Traditionally it’s passed down in families and is an ancient tradition. In India the massage is performed only on the scalp but in the west the routine has been adapted to include the upper back, shoulders and neck. My routine also includes some neck and shoulder work. It’s a safe treatment but there are some conditions that may need additional care or adaptation. During an IHM treatment you will be seated in a chair, with a low back. Preferably you will wear a light shirt, vest or t shirt. I will then perform a massage routine to the upper back, shoulders, neck, and scalp that lasts 30 minutes.
